The short answer is yes NC State won their game today against Duke. The final score was 10-2.
The Wolfpack got off to a quick start scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Second baseman Josh McLain led off with a single and then left fielder Brett Kinneman hit a 2-run home run to give NC State an early lead.
Duke scored a run in the top of the 2nd inning but NC State answered right back with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning. Designated hitter Jakob Bielski hit a solo home run and then catcher Patricio Torrens hit an RBI double to make the score 5-1.
NC State added 3 more runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. First baseman Preston Palmeiro hit a solo home run and then right fielder Brad Debo hit a 2-run home run to extend the Wolfpack’s lead to 8-1.
Duke scored another run in the top of the 6th inning but NC State once again answered with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning. This time it was third baseman Terrell Tatum who hit a 2-run home run to make the score 10-2.
And that’s how it would end as NC State cruised to a 10-2 victory. With the win the Wolfpack improve to 32-14 on the season and 15-9 in ACC play. They will now turn their attention to their weekend series against Louisville.
